Yes Steve, the old fox did that with the XU-1s too. 'H' had such a large book of tricks for Series Production racing. In that 1968 race, his last with Ford, he told me that he deliberately applied the racing numbers of the Gibson/Seton car off-centre, to distract people from looking closer and perhaps noticing the other tweaks on that car (slightly lower ride height etc).
