I remember during the 1970s panel van craze, the hot look for Holden guys was to cut the centre section out of the front bumper to leave two 'bumperettes' and a huge gaping grille. They obviously thought it looked great but I never liked it, even back then. Plus there were pop-up sunroofs, bubble windows, murals, shag-pile carpet (with shag having more than one meaning in panel van terminology) and all the rest of it. That was an interesting craze.
