One HK327 from the 1968 Holden Dealer Racing Team has survived. Driven by Bill Brown and Paul Hawkins 23D lead the race early and was still in the lead pack until lap 108 when the right rear wheel broke in the cutting. Towed back to the pits and with a new wheel fitted returned to complete the race. Subsequently disqualified from the results for the tow back to the pits. After the race the cars were ultimately returned to the three contributing dealers, 23D to Suttons NSW, 24D to Pattersons Vic and 25D to Midway Motors Qld. 23D and 25D both ran in the Surfers 12hr and 23D continued an active racing life in Series Production and Improved Production until the new HT350 was available. None of the other Monaros which ran in 1968 are known to survive. Hasbeen will know all about these particular cars.
