One of my favourite 'what ifs' is to imagine how different Australian muscle car history would be if Ford's competitions boss Al Turner had been given the green light to use the US two-door Falcon as the basis of the GT-HO. Big Al wanted to use the two-door (remember his famous XT-based 'Super Roo' two-door show car?) but Bill Bourke said no, as he wanted racing to sex-up the Aussie Falcon which was a four-door of course. A two-door HOey? Wouldn't that have been (as Californian kids said at the time) totally Boss!
