Two of my fondest motor racing memories were HRT's against-the-odds win for an Aussie V8 over the turbos at Bathurst in 1990. That was arguably Allan Grice's greatest drive in a touring car. And I will also never forget those two thrilling victories by Wayne Gardner in the 1989 and 1990 Australian Motorcycle Grands Prix at Phillip Island. Both were very tough hard-fought victories but 1990 was my favourite, because Wayne was riding with a broken wrist and the fairing on his bike had worked loose and looked like it was about to part company at any moment. Absolutely nail-biting motor sport at its best!
