Nice one Hasbeen. I cherish each and every one of your racing anecdotes from my favourite decade of motor racing. You really should write a book some day! Petrolhead, my favourite Rover has always been the P5B Coupe. Such a tasteful mix of British class and elegance with a lightweight aluminium V8 that originated in the US. I fortunately had the opportunity to drive one of these on a regular basis when I was working for Captain Janson in Melbourne back in the 1980s. He had a garage full of interesting cars but the P5B was always my pick. The burble of the exhaust and effortless torque and smoothness of that beaut little 3.5 litre V8 are still vivid after all these years. A great engine in a great car.
