The Gazel was obviously based on the Herald with 4 instead of 2 doors. No increase in wheelbase or overall length, and equipped with the 948 cc engine. The first one I saw in Delhi in 1973 I thought was home-made, but no........ They redesigned the rear end, before going back to original later on with the Mark III. The rear suspension used was the Triumph Toledo because it could withstand the rough roads. Apparently lasted until 1977.
