Mike72, Ah, memories of 1972! Back then Toranas were the mainstay of Australia speedway sedan racing, unless you raced a Monaro. Here's three pics from my files of those great days. The first is Gordon Smee (#23) at Liverpool with Queensland's Alan Butcher on the outside. The second is George Price (#1) inside of Ralph Ranger at the old Heddon Greta oval. (which is now a housing estate).Check out the spectators in the background: some barracking for Pricey, the others for Ralph. Pricey raced in bare feet, I kid you not. He also had a 1959 Morris Major road car with a 186S motor in it. Man, did that thing fly!!! The colour pic is Brian Callaghan at Liverpool, in 1974.
