Pony: John mentioned the Sunbeam Tiger on another forum so I thought it would be a nice addition here. Part designed by Carroll Shelby in 1963 as a V8 version of a British (Rootes Group) Sunbeam Alpine Roadster, the car was produced in the UK between 1964 and 1967 by Jensen (ref. Wikipedia). Powered by Ford V8's (imported from the US) the MkI (1964-67) had a 260ci/4.3ltr. engine and the MkII (1967 only) 289ci/4.7ltr. As for Carroll Shelby, who had initially hoped to assemble the vehicle in the states, he received a 'royalty' payment from Rootes for every car produced by Jensen.
