Rather than continuing through the decades, I'll just make a few comments. For me, colour is a big factor but in many cases it's more to do with provenance than simple personal preference. Good examples are the GT Gold of the XR Falcon GT (that bronze car being such a revelation!), the Warwick Yellow (requiring absolutely no deconstruction) and Strike Me Pink. I must also say that I especially love the Sprint Giallo of my own Maserati Quattroporte IV V6 which was the first car of its type in Oz and was shown at Darling Harbour in 1995. Its vibrant yellow made the HSV GTS-R's yellow look dirty by comparison. The blue interior makes a pleasing contrast.
