Some interesting details in Ford's publication for their sales staff, comparing the XP Falcon with the HD Holden and newly released AP6 Valiant utes. They used a Deluxe Falcon in all their photos and most of the book is focussed against the HD. They did refer to the Valiant as being a standard model, but in my book, the AP6 had just about every thing you would want in a ute. They reckoned that there is 'some question whether all this power is needed for general utility work. Certainly economy must suffer, and Chrysler offers no alternative of a smaller engine for the more economy minded utility operator.' I do know my brother's AP6 was a handful going round wet paddocks with constant wheel-spin.
