Formula Junior open wheelers specified production-based 1100 cc engines. Block, head and pistons had to be from production cars ( eg Fiat 1100, BMC A series, Ford 105E etc ) Overhead cams, LSDs and an increase in the number of main bearings were forbidden. Brakes and transmission also had to be production-based My favourite would be the Italian Stanguellini.
