Hope I'm not hogging this topic too much, but here are most of the scans I have on the Australian cars in the Observers Books. Note the line drawing of the Morris Major and the FB Holden. The EK didn't get a mention in the 1962 edition; they just ran the FB again. I've not seen Manwaring's name in anything else; maybe he organised with the manufacturers to keep sending material on behalf of Frederick Warne, the publishers. Olyslager took over in the '70s with others putting it together, and I think they included only those cars which were at Earls Court. By then the lack of bias had disappeared with the descriptions including phrases like 'poorly assembled' and 'not very economical'; compare the Jaguar coverage with the Lada in the 1987 edition. The layout changed substantially in the late '70s and '80s and as I said before, lost all the charm of the originals. They still provide great source material though. As kids we used to read the Appearance out to friends as a guessing competition. Minis, VW Beetles and the 1958 Edsel were too obvious....
