As MarkO points out, the Van was a late arrival, and it's surprising that they didn't introduce it with the VH instead of waiting six years. These images are from a Chrysler bulletin to their dealers, and the comparison with the Holden and Ford make interesting reading. With the use of gas-filled struts for the upper tailgate, I'm pretty sure the first use of it in Australia was with the Morris Nomad in 1969. They were German imports, which lowered the local content somewhat.
