It's a funny thing about Fiat. I know a few Italian families who emigrated to this country in the 1950s. One of the fathers came here with nothing in 1951, bringing the rest of the family later on. I asked him if he or any of his friends owned a Fiat. He gave me a totally blank look and said that with them, it was either a Holden, Falcon or Valiant, as all of these signified success. True to his word this FE van was followed by an EH wagon and a couple of Commodores, all beautifully cared for.
