Yes PonyRider, so many of the big names started in that era of the Stockcars and progressed to speedcars, supermodifieds and then Sprintcars. Here's a pic from when Liverpool was paved, probably in Sept/Oct 1974. That's Gordon Smee in Gary Schroder's Torana , with Paul Ash alongside. Down on the inside line is John Andrews in the Ivanhoe Constructions Chevelle (the ex-Gene Welch/Mike Klein car). Peter Crick in the DeAngelos Tyres HQ Holden is about to give Graham Oliver's IPEC Couriers Falcon Superbird a big shove while Bruce Maxwell waits at the back in his Superbird for everyone to sort themselves out.
