Well, BentleyT asks the question: Were they on track of sheer brilliance, or a dead set shocker? When questions like this are asked, I always go back to my 1960 benchmark, the Corvair. Never in the field of car styling has just one car been copied by so many so often. And the 1961 Plymouth is one I had overlooked until now. You can see the similarities so clearly, especially the rear end. That the advertising image of the Plymouth positions it on a beach with the driver seeking help from a lifesaver says it all.
