A rare model in Australia for sure, but they certainly got them working well in German motor sport in the early 1990s. I remember they won back to back German touring car championships (DTM) in 1990 and 1991 running 3.6 litre V8s with six-speed manual gearboxes and all wheel drive. Audi wanted to run a flat-plane crankshaft in 1992 for more power but the DTM organisers ruled it illegal, so Audi withdrew from the series. Those quattros were much heavier than the competition, so it was an impressive result.
