I think we may have missed an important point here guys; The Italians are intensely proud of their super cars. They are the mechanical equivalent of Gina Lollobrigida. Their passion for their flagship brands, remember that the politicians are just as Italian and just as passionate, I think will keep the company going for decades yet. The rivalry between the European countries means that there will always be an R8 or 911 or Guillarda or La Ferrari etc to come out as the best looking, the fastest, the quickest etc. It's a badge of honour that no Western European country can resist. Besides, I'm not convinced that EVs are going to be as all conquering as we might think. Once people start to really look at the carbon footprint involved in making them plus the fact that China has all but cornered the market on rare earth metals so necessary for the production of the magnets in the motors and the batteries and has pulled their supplies off the market in order to "supply our home market of wind generators". Another technology will come to the fore such as Hydrogen or even, dare I say, running cars on petrol fumes and not raw petrol. I've seen videos of backyarders doing their own petrol fume conversion and the vehicles seem to run fine. Let's not put the IC supercar in the grave just yet.
