El classico argentino indeed...... Some more brochure images, and a couple taken by a mate when he was there a few years ago. They also made the Rambler American for years as an IKA Torino. Not only the Falcon got a stay of execution; the 1965-66 Galaxie was produced for years as well. The Ute was known as the Ranchero, unsurprisingly. The BMC Farina was also produced by Di Tella - an Austin A60 with a Riley grille tacked on. I was in a Ford showroom in the US in the late 1990s and a couple sales blokes asked me about cars in Australia. The inevitable "Hey guys - they're still makin' the Falcon in Australia!"
