These 1980s Japanese cars are fabulous classics, Dr John. When I lived and worked in NZ in the mid-90s, the Toyota Crown Royal and its more upright, conservative sibling, just the plain old Crown (the brown car) were everywhere, because of NZ's new laws that permitted cheap second hand Japanese cars to be imported by the multiple boat load. I recall using taxis that were Crown Royals. The interiors were quite worn by then.
