To all members, I would really appreciate your feedback, input or comments on something that has annoyed me for some time. I have recently conceded that new cars will be fitted with bigger diameter wheels and low profile tyres, neither of which appeal to me, but if that is the "norm" then I am okay with that, although that set-up on a classic old car looks ridiculous (in my opinion) My pet 'beef' at the moment is BLACK WHEELS ! If that is the trend I think it is stupid. 50 years ago young drivers would take hub-caps off (remember them ?) to pretend they had a hot car. Chromed wheels became fashionable and looked great, then of course mag alloys looked cool too. But BLACK WHEELS look wrong to me. They are on all models, including my mechanics 2017 'Grabber Blue' Mustang GT (photo below) that he had at Lakeside on the weekend. Is it just my age ? Am I too far behind the times ? Compare black wheels with my Chromies( also in a photo below) What do you guys and girls think ?
