Hi paulw. The Escort Twin Cams were only allowed to run their standard steel wheels at Bathurst during the showroom stock Series Production era that finished in 1972. Rule freedoms under Group C from 1973 allowed wider aftermarket wheels to be fitted and the Sprintmasters proved a popular choice, as seen here on the Eric Boord/Tom Tymons RS 2000 that won the 2.0 litre class at Bathurst in 1976. Sprintmasters were also seen on a number of small-bore sports sedans in the 1970s, including (of course) the Globe-sponsored, big flared BDA driven by John Bassett.
