Yes, there was a mix of art and science required to succeed in Series Production racing in the halcyon days of the late 1960s and early 1970s and chaps like Harry Firth were adept at both. His victory as HDT team manager at Bathurst in 1969 with the Monaro GTS 350s against Ford's new GT-HOs was a masterclass.
