The Queensland Hot Rod Show Returns to Brisbane in its 47th year

12 May 2017

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is the venue for the 47th Queensland Hot Rod Show, showcasing a stunning display of automotive art. Queensland Hot Rod Promotions presents the 47th annual Queensland Hot Rod Show, June 3 and 4, 2017

The Show will feature nine (9) unveilings of newly built vehicles from some of Australia's most talented and devoted car builders and owners

Show Manager Katrina Martin said "the Hot Rod Show is a significant event in the local and state events calendar and provides a wonderful experience for families with entertainment, airbrushing displays, giveaways and of course the significant range of high-end hot rods, street machines, classics and bikes on display", she said

A feature of this year’s show will be the presence of well-known custom car builder Bernt Karlsson from the US TV show American Hot Rod. Bernt will be on hand to signs posters and hand out trophies to the lucky winners at presentation time.

"There isn't a show or event like it in the South East; its rich history stretches back to the McDonnell and East carpark, RNA pavilions and Indooroopilly Shopping Town in the ‘70’s. The event was instigated by a group of leading car enthusiasts from the Roadstars Hot Rod Club. It has evolved so much since then and features classics and bikes of all shapes and sizes, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy", she said.

The Show showcases and celebrates Australia's most elite bikes and cars and the many businesses and traders behind the stunning displays. Spectators can expect to be inspired and impressed with the innovation, creativity and new technologies featured at the Show.

The Queensland Hot Rod Show is also proudly supporting the Leukaemia Foundation throughout the weekend. One of the donated items is a stunning 18k yellow and white gold vintage style aquamarine and diamond ring valued at $3500.

Another feature of the show is the ever-popular Miss Queensland Hot Rod competition where stunning models will be vying for special prizes, sashes and tiaras. Finals to be held on Sunday.
