WA’s largest classic car show returns to Ascot Racecourse on 8 March 2020, promising over 1000 immaculate machines representing many facets of our rich motoring history.
Seventy of Perth’s classic car clubs will come together, covering not just passenger cars, but trucks, buses and bikes. Fittingly for this year, organisers have invoked ‘2020 hindsight’, inviting several unique and unusual vehicles to participate in the ‘Past Cars of the Future’ display.
Masterpieces such as the VW Beetle, Citroen Traction Avant and Jaguar E-type will share the limelight with some of history’s automotive curiosities such as a 1930’s Airflow DeSoto, a rear-engine Chevrolet Corvair and a Wankel rotary-powered NSU Ro80; just a few of the vehicles that were ahead of a time that never came.
With a focus on unmodified classics, the Shannons Classic Car Show a great opportunity to sight history’s automobiles as they would have presented when new, with some owners even donning vintage garb to match their machines.
As with any show of this scope, the cars form merely one aspect of the entertainment, with trade stands and displays from local community groups and clubs.
Adults are just $10.00 and kids are free if aged 16 & under, making the Shannons Classic Car Show brilliant value for a whole day’s entertainment.
Gates open at 10:00am. Onsite public parking is free.
