Come September, the arid Central Australian Desert will come to life with colour, chrome and cruising with plenty on offer for all walks of enthusiast.
Blatherskite Park will be (socially safely) packed to the brim for the Shannons Show N Shine, with everything from Elite-level street machines, muscle cars, dusty outback survivors, jacked-up fourbies and classic restorations.
Of course, there’s always the excitement of following the Road to the Grand Champion, won in style last year by Brent Murray of Portland, Victoria in his EVL68 Dart/Valiant coupe.
You don’t have to have an Elite show or competition car to have fun at Red CentreNATS; even if your best ride remains laid up in the shed, the Alice Springs event is well worth the visit.
For some, the Yeperenye Shopping Centre Street Parade alone is a worthwhile spectacle; hundreds of cars, including some serious burnout and drag machines, legally lapping the town to the cheering of enthusiastic onlookers such as yourself.
