Shannons is putting the pedal to the metal at its Melbourne Late Spring Auction on November 26, with some serious ultra-high performance cars on offer from Germany, the USA, Australia and Japan.
The Top Gun is an Australian-delivered 1982 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe that has been mechanically reconditioned over the past four years, which is being offered with ‘no reserve’.
With values of early air-cooled Porsche Turbo models rising rapidly around the world, Shannons expect this nice driver-quality car to be in great demands at its anticipated selling range of $160,000 - $190,000.
American performance car enthusiasts will be focussed on a 2000 Dodge Viper RT/10 Series II Roadster that has been converted to right hand drive.
Fitted with the model’s neat factory-fitted removeable ‘bubble-top’ hardtop and finished in in trademark Viper red, with high-lustre chromed five-spoke wheels, the RT/10 offers a ‘wow’ factory that is matched by few other vehicles and is expected to sell in the $100,000 - $110,000 range.
Australian honour is upheld by a one-owner, four-wheel-drive 2005 Holden HSV Coupe 4 (Build No. 148) that has had its 5.7-litre V8 engine supercharged for extra performance by Melbourne performance specialist, Harrop.
Offering spectacular performance combined with the reassuring grip of four-wheel-drive, this very special ‘Coupe 4’ is expected to bring $75,000 - $85,000.
Finally, for Japanese performance car enthusiasts, there is a 1991 Nissan Skyline GT-R Coupe – number 77 of the 100 Australian-delivered R32s – that is being offered by a well-known R32 collector in very good overall condition.
Offered with ‘no reserve’, this highly collectible Japanese supercar finished in the ‘hero’ colour of Black Pearl Metallic is expected to bring $70,000 - $85,000.
However, if your appetite for a Japanese performance classic is high, but your budget is low, there’s a great one owner from new 1999 Honda VTi-R Integra Coupe that has covered just 110,000km in almost 20 years and comes to auction in immaculate condition throughout.
Offered with ‘no reserve’, it would make a wonderful modern classic at its expected selling range of $8,000 - $12,000.
