Concorso d’Eleganza Competition Winner Returns with Great Memories of her Italian tour

By Shannons - 22 June 2017

After winning one of Shannons biggest ever competitions, Jan and her travelling companion have returned from Italy after a jam-packed 14-day tour of Italy, including the Concorso d‘Eleganza on Lake Como, Milan, Bologna, Genoa, and Monaco. Jan shares with us some of the tour highlights.

“There were many highlights, but some of the standouts included Hotel Villa Flori at Lake Como. It was beautiful with exceptional service, they just couldn't do enough for us. The timber speedboat cruise on Lake Como gave us a close look at how the rich and famous live, including Richard Branson's Villa on Lake Como.

We joined thousands of motoring enthusiasts at the Concorso d'Eleganza and saw some of the world's most exotic cars in a most beautiful setting. There were Ferraris and Lamborghinis around every corner. A chance meeting with members of the Australian Fiat Car Club was great as it’s always good to see other Aussies abroad. They all knew about the Shannons competition and were excited to meet and be photographed with us.

The Lamborghini & Ferrari Museum Tours were fantastic experiences, with a brilliant tour guide who was a wealth of information. We also received a bonus tour of the Ducati factory!

In all, we drove 1,600 km in 14 days across Italy, travelling briefly into Switzerland, then onto Monaco and France. While a little daunted by the Italian roads and autostradas at first, the scenery was beautiful and driving to Monaco along the Italian Rivera was amazing.

Our time in Monaco was only a week after the F1 Race and the streets still in race mode. This was a city for the rich and famous and thanks to Shannons we were able to experience it all.

Now home, exhausted but grateful for the wonderful memories, we looked forward to picking up the next part of the Shannons competition prize - a new 2017 Indian Scout motorcycle. As a motorcycle rider, this was just icing on the cake!

Thanks again Shannons."
