• Fabulous XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III

• Limited edition ‘Brock’ Commodore and FPV GT Cobra sedans

Aussie ‘gold’ is expected to shine at Shannons Spring Auction on November 5, with six great V8-engined Ford and Holden ‘Muscle’ cars and a one family owned 179-cid-engined 1963 Holden EH Premier crossing the block.

This fabulous very early-build 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT-HO Phase III Sedan is expected to sell in the $690,000-$790,000 range.

The undoubted standout is a fabulous very early-build 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT-HO Phase III Sedan.

Finished in Monza Green with a black interior – one of just seven Phase IIIs wearing this combination – the GT-HO was the fifth of the 300 examples built in 1971 to qualify the model for Bathurst competition and was delivered to its first owner in the Blue Mountains through Sinclair Ford of Penrith.

Original options still fitted include twin mirrors, a Super Fringe Deluxe Push-Button Radio and delete Super Roo decals.

The Falcon was comprehensively restored around 25 years ago by Cobra Craft in New  South Wales and remains still fresh today, thanks to the quality of the workmanship. In recent work, its 351 V8 engine and four-barrel 780CFM carburettor have been rebuilt following the HO’s lengthy period in storage.

No other Australian Muscle Car from the halcyon racing era of the late 1960s to early ‘70s has drawn so many admirers and excited so many collectors as the XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III, with examples trading hands recent at high six-figure sums.

Given its history, original books and collectibilty, Shannons expect this ultimate Australian muscle car to sell in the $690,000-$790,000 range on November 5.

This 1980 Holden HDT VC Brock Commodore Sedan – one of just 69 black examples delivered  – is coming out of long-term dry storage for Shannons Sydney Spring Auction on November 5, where it is expected to sell in the $70,000 - $80,000 range.

Two other collectible Australian Muscle Cars will excite enthusiasts in the auction.

For Holden fans, there is a 1980 Holden HDT VC Brock Commodore Sedan (No 431).

One of just 69 black examples delivered and optioned with a sunroof, delete stripes and automatic transmission, the Commodore was driven on a daily basis around Sydney until 2000 before being laid-up in dry storage by the first (and only) registered keeper for some years.

Offered with its original books and history file, making it ideal for the Brock collector, it is expected to sell in the $70,000 - $80,000 range.

Ford collectors are offered an ultra-low kilometre 2007 Ford BF Cobra GT Sedan, it is expected to sell with ‘no reserve’ in the $40,000 - $50,000 range.

Ford collectors are offered an ultra-low kilometre 2007 Ford BF Cobra GT Sedan (No 236/400)

Shannons say this fantastic one-owner Falcon with its exceptional documentation, is definitely one to put away and expect it to sell with ‘no reserve’ in the $40,000 - $50,000 range.

This 1976 Holden LX Torana SS that has been retro-configured and mechanically upgraded as a V8 A9X tribute, is expected to sell in the $60,000 - $70,000 range.

Equally desirable for Holden enthusiasts is a 1976 Holden LX Torana SS that has been retro-configured as a V8 A9X tribute, with its original 202-six and Trimatic transmission replaced by an uprated 350-cid V8 mated to a four-speed GM 4L60-E automatic box and a 10-bolt Salisbury rear diff, while it now also has four-wheel disc brakes, upgraded suspension and a 90-litre drop tank.

Offering great looks and performance and showing just 141,078km on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, the Torana is expected to sell in the $60,000 - $70,000 range.

This rare and collectible one-family-owned and unmolested 179-cid 1963 Holden EH Premier is being offered with ‘no reserve’ at Shannons Sydney Spring Auction on November 5, where it is expected to sell in the $24,000 - $28,000 range.

Shannons also have three more affordable Aussie Classics in the auction offered at ‘no reserve’.

These include a two-owner 1974 Holden HQ Monaro GTS 308 Sedan optioned with power windows, power steering and air conditioning ($45,000 - $55,000); a rare and collectible one family owned and unmolested 179-cid 1963 Holden EH Premier ($24,000 - $28,000) and a tidy and well-equipped 1980 Holden WB Statesman DeVille 308-cid Sedan that wears its relatively high mileage (381,480km) well ($14,000 - $18,000).
