A delectable selection of British and European classic cars and motorcycles will vie with 30 collectible New South Wales black and white numerical number plates with bidders at Shannons Autumn Classic Auction & Rare Number Plates in Sydney on March 4.

This rare and ultra-desirable right hand drive 1988 BMW E30 M3 Evolution II Coupe is expected to command $100,000-$120,000 at Shannons Autumn Classic Auction & Rare Number Plates sale in Sydney on March 4.

The headline sporting classic cars in the auction include a 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL roadster ($160,000 - $180,000), a striking silver 1960 Porsche 356B 1600S Coupe ($150,000-$180,000), an eye-catching 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 2 Fixed-Head Coupe ($120,000 - $140,000) and a rare and ultra-desirable right hand drive 1988 BMW E30 M3 Evolution II Coupe ($100,000-$120,000).

This wonderful and collectible 1911 Abingdon ‘King Dick’ 794cc solo motorcycle will be offered at ‘no reserve’ at Shannons Autumn Classic Auction & Rare Number Plates sale in Sydney on March 4, where it is expected to sell in the $24,000-$28,000 range.

The 14 important motorcycles spanning 86 years are bookended by a very rare and collectible 1911 Abingdon ‘King Dick’ 794cc solo offered at ‘no reserve’ and a super-desirable, limited edition 1997 Ducati 916 ‘Senna’ (No 13 of just 300 built) that is expected to sell for similar money $24,000-$28,000.

The 30 collectible black and white New South wales Heritage plates crossing the block include an auction record 18 three-digit numbers beginning with ‘271’ ($80,000-$110,000) and seven four-digit plates including ‘2019’ ($40,000-$60,000), while three of the four five-digit plates include significant combinations of the ‘lucky’ number ‘8’.

This superb, restored 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Coupe is expected to command $70,000-$85,000 at Shannons Autumn Classic Auction & Rare Number Plates sale in Sydney on March 4.

Alfisti – Alfa Romeo enthusiasts – have a superb, restored 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Coupe that is expected to command $70,000-$85,000 to bid for, with a rare 1966 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Coupe ($28,000 - $36,000) coming out of storage is another attraction.

This striking red 1938 Bentley 4¼ Litre rebodied in the style of a Vanden Plas open tourer, is expected to sell in the $120,000-$150,000 range at Shannons Autumn Classic Auction & Rare Number Plates sale in Sydney on March 4.

Thoroughbred British sporting car enthusiasts will have to choose between a striking red 1938 Bentley 4¼ Litre in the style of a Vanden Plas open tourer ($120,000-$150,000) and a restored 1932 Rolls-Royce 20/25HP Open Tourer ($70,000 - $90,000).

However, the eclectic collection of more affordable ‘no reserve’ British and European Classics could attract the most enthusiastic bidding.

Vehicles on offer include a very well cared for and an ultra-low kilometre 1996 Maserati Ghibli 2.8 Litre in ‘mint’ condition ($40,000-$50,000), an older-restoration 1969 Morris Mini Cooper S MkII Saloon ($35,000-$45,000), an imposing 1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Saloon with full books and receipts ($30,000 - $40,000), a stylish and an exceptionally-clean 1994 Mercedes-Benz E220 Coupe and an increasingly collectible 1989 Porsche 928 S4 Coupe that is also expected to sell in the same $20,000-$30,000 range as the E220.
