Auction momentum set to continue at Shannons Sydney Autumn sale

This 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 Coupe is one of the feature lots of Shannons Sydney Autumn Auction on Monday (March 14), where it is expected to sell for $95,000-$110,000.

The momentum that has seen strong results posted at Australian Classic Auctions over the past six months is poised to continue at Shannons Sydney Autumn sale on Monday, March 14, with 74 lots going under the hammer.

This rare and powerful 1969 Ford Torino Talladega 428 Coupe is one of a several sought-after Muscle Cars in Shannons Sydney Autumn Auction on Monday (March 14), where it is expected to sell for $72,000-$82,000.

Feature lots include a 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster (RHD), a 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 Coupe, a 1969 Ford Torino Talladega 428 Coupe (LHD) and a 1970 Bolwell Nagari 302ci V8 Coupe.

Early Land-Rovers are now in high demand world-wide following the cessation of production of the classic Defender, with this 1954 SWB Series 1 model expected to sell with ‘no reserve’ for $12,000-$15,000.

Number plate collectors will be spoilt for choice, with the annual NSW Numerical Collector Number Plate Sale on behalf of the Roads & Maritime Services featuring 26 sought-after and collectible plates. These include a record 14 three-digit and eight four-digit NSW plates, plus there are two double-digit QLD two-digit Q-Plates.

An important feature of the plate sale is that the RMS has waived its one-off transfer fee, representing a potential saving of up to $3,600 in the case of a 3-digit plate.

Stunning examples of veteran and vintage models include a c1903 Oldsmobile Model R Curved Dash Runabout, a c1913 Ford Model-T Runabout (Turtle Deck), a c1927 Ford Model-T Speedster and a unique 1927 Franklin Series 11B ‘Air Cooled ‘Sedan.

This superb circa-1903 Oldsmobile Model R Curved Dash Runabout is one four great Veteran and Vintage vehicles in Shannons Sydney Autumn Auction on Monday (March 14), where it is expected to bring $75,000-$85,000.

For those looking for their first classic car, some very entry point vehicles are on offer. They include a 1968 MGB MkII Roadster, a 1971 Chrysler Valiant VG Regal Coupe, a 1974 Triumph GT6 MkIll Coupe and a 1959 Volkswagen Beetle 2-Door Sedan.

Other strong contenders sure to attract strong interest on the night include a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 351 Fastback (RHD), a 1965 Ford Cortina Mk1 GT500 2-Door Sedan, a 1950 Riley RMD Drophead and a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Convertible.

This rare and collectible 1965 Ford Cortina Mk1 GT500 2-Door ‘Bathurst sedan’ is one of a number of unique sporting vehicles in Shannons Sydney Autumn Auction on Monday (March 14).

Online pre-bidding is an innovation now available at Shannons. Pre-bidding allows a registered and approved online bidder to place bids on one or more lots before the live auction starts.

Pre-bidding closes at 5pm (AEDT) - two hours prior to Monday’s live auction. Bids will then automatically be placed up to the amount entered on the pre bidders behalf during the auction.

All auction vehicles are available for viewing at Shannons Sydney showroom at 65 Reserve Road, St.Leonards from 9am-4pm Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
