History
This beauty was a GMH executive ordered vehicle that I bought as the second owner in 1999. It was top of the line with factory fitted sunroof, antera alloys, premium 12 speaker sound system and full leather interior with only 38,000km on the clock.
A real head turner in the day (still gets looks now) we enjoyed this ride until 2003 when our 4th child was born and the inevitable decision was made, you guessed it, "Minivan"!
So, while doing my usual Sunday afternoon internet car dreaming in 2013, I happened upon a one photo ad on gumtree that I could not believe. Same colour, sunroof and those wheels, there could be no doubt! Then the bad part, the description stated "blown motor" and the condition over all was at best, poor.
Still, I had to have a look, so along with my now 10 year old son, we hopped in the car and headed off from the Central Coast down to the southern suburbs of Sydney to see if she could be saved.
The ad did not lie, it was pretty bad, but I couldn't leave her there to go to the wreckers, so after some spirited negotiation, we had our car back.
Long story short, an engine rebuild, 12 months of scouring wreckers an the internet, and plenty of elbow grease (and probably too much money) she was back on the road.
The photo above was from April 2015 when my son and I drove to Mt Panorama to tick off one of my big bucket list items, to drive a Holden V8 around the circuit at Bathurst.
One of the best days of my life.
