The WB was the final incarnation of Holden's full-size commercial range, a model introduced after the arrival of the Commodore spelt the end for the big family car.  Announced in April 1980, the WB range consisted of four basic commercial models (the one-tonner, panel van, utility and Kingswood utility) along with two Statesman variants.  Essentially a facelifted HZ, the WB sported new front sheetmetal - the Kingswood model had rectangular headlamps and a blacked-out grille and Holden subsequently adopted this look across the WB line-up, as it was felt the original styling was too plain.  Inside, the WB kept the HZ's interior with only minor detail changes, although the bucket seats optional on the Kingswood came with adjustable head restraints.  The 3.3-litre six remained the standard engine across the range but the 4.2-litre V8 was available as an option.  The 5.0-litre V8 was exclusive to the Statesmans but has proven a popular conversion on WB utes over the years, providing plenty of additional grunt.  The WB is, to many, the last real Holden ute and as such will always be in demand, keeping values strong.
