The Volvo 940-series was an upgraded and facelifted edition of the 760-series, first seen in Australia in late 1982; the four-cylinder 740 came later. By the early 1990s, Volvo was transitioning to front-wheel-drive, making this 1991 940 GL one of the last of Volvo’s distinguished line of traditional rear-wheel-drive models. Extraordinarily safe, spacious and durable, the 940-series has now achieved classic status.
