Part of Honda’s CBF family, the CBF1000 introduced in 2006 is a sports touring motorcycle predominantly aimed at the European market and the more mature rider.  Combining the frame of the smaller CBF600 with a powerful 998cc in-line four-cylinder engine based on the CBR1000RR Fireblade, the liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC unit developed a peak output of 96.6 horsepower at 8000rpm and plenty of torque.  Tuned for mid-range power and progressive acceleration rather than outright top speed, the CBF1000 also featured programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI), a combined half fairing and adjustable handlebars, three-way seat height and screen.  There was also a full fairing touring version available, dubbed the CBF1000GT, complete with panniers and top box and anti-lock brakes were optional.  A reliable Japanese cruiser designed to eat up miles of long-distance touring in complete comfort, the more than capable CBF1000 offers exceptional value for money today.  According to Motorcycle News, the CBF is “one of the unsung heroes of modern motorcycling.  Detuned Blade engine, fabulously easy handling and throttle response and great ergonomics make the Honda CBF1000 hooningly enjoyable, yet novice friendly and a great value all-rounder.”
