The Ducati 250 Diana Mark 3 is an air-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC motorcycle produced from 1967. Its 249cc engine had a 73.7mm bore x 73.7mm stroke and produced 14.9 kW at 7750rpm. The engine was paired to a five-speed manual transmission, built on a steel tube frame, with hydraulic telescopic front forks, dual shock rear suspension, drum brakes front and rear, wire wheels, analogue instrumentation and design features that included a small headlight, a dual seat, and a chromed exhaust system. Wholly revised for 1968, the Ducati 250 Mark 3’s engine was now fitted with an SS1 carburettor and also featured a larger capacity sump plus much wider rear engine mounting points. Styling embellishments for 1968 included chrome trim for the tank and mudguards. Although launched with twin fuel fillers, it was revised again to a single filler for this 1969 model, and at the same time the carburettor was also changed for a VHB29 unit. These 250 Mark 3s are rare, especially in this country, and with so much attention lavished on the large-capacity Italians, these bikes have tended to fly under the radar except among the aficionados.
