Description

The Vespa has become something of a cult object in recent years, worshipped by enthusiasts around the world and thoroughly transcending the original design brief to provide cheap transportation to millions of Italians. Popularised using clever marketing and an association with celebrities, the Vespa is perhaps best remembered for its role in ‘Roman Holiday’ starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The Vespa has become the Godfather of scooters and can be found on pavements outside the hippest cafes and bars today thanks to the recent revival.
The arrival of the VBA model in 1958 saw the most significant change to the original Vespa design to that point. Sitting on a narrower frame, the body was subtly changed in shape, some minor controls relocated, and the whole design freshened up. A classic Vespa scooter makes an ideal choice of commuter vehicle, being reliable, easy and cheap to maintain but with loads of style.

History

  • Restored Vespa 150 Super
  • Good condition throughout
  • Part of a private collection
  • No Reserve
Rebuilt in the early 2000s, this 1966 Vespa 150 Super scooter is in great condition throughout. Its recent story begins in 2003-4 when the vendor purchased 12 Vespa’s and Lambretta’s whilst living in Cambodia and Vietnam. Imported into Australia in 2005 (it is accompanied by the relevant paperwork) it is said to have covered just 54km (as indicated) since its rebuild, as one of just three in the collection to have been previously registered in Victoria. ( Previous Victorian registration information will be provided). It’s finished in a bright Electric Blue metallic which is in good condition, as is the blue and white trimmed seat, the silver wheels and the chrome trim. There’s a factory front mudflap and rear luggage rack (complete with ‘Mod’ style Union Jack flag) and a step-plate mounted spare wheel with trimmed cover. Included with the sale are various Vespa items including a weather-proof cover and a copy of the owner’s manual, badges, stickers, numberplate surrounds and a spare set of keys. Our neat 1966 Vespa Super scooter is being offered for sale unregistered and with No Reserve.

Note: Shannons advise that all potential buyers research and inspect motorcycles before purchase to authenticate originality and condition as a pre-purchase inspection report is not carried out on these vehicles.
