The Vespa has become something of a cult object in recent years, worshipped by enthusiasts around the world and thoroughly transcending the original design brief to provide cheap transportation to millions of Italians. Popularised using clever marketing and an association with celebrities, the Vespa is perhaps best remembered for its movie role in ‘Roman Holiday’ starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The Vespa has become the Godfather of scooters and can be found on pavements outside the hippest cafes and bars today thanks to the recent revival of interest. In 1960 the styling of the standard Vespa 150 was upgraded to GS specification (using the same clamshell speedo and tail lights) and the four-speed gearbox was introduced, along with various minor improvements to the running gear. A classic Vespa scooter makes an ideal choice of commuter vehicle, being reliable, easy and cheap to maintain but with loads of style.

  • Restored Vespa 150 Super
  • Outstanding condition throughout
  • Part of private collection
  • With factory Vespa accessories
  • No Reserve
Rebuilt in 2004, this 1967 Vespa 150 Super scooter is in superb condition throughout, having covered just 40km since then. That’s because it’s been on long-term loan to the National Motorcycle Museum at Nabiac (NSW) for more than a decade. Its recent story begins in 2003-4, when the vendor purchased 12 Vespas and Lambrettas whilst living in Cambodia and Vietnam. It was imported into Australia in early 2005 (and is accompanied by the relevant paperwork). Finished in a bright metallic shade called Electron Blue which is still in good condition, as are the black saddle, the wheels and the chrome trim. There’s a retro after market half-blue Perspex windscreen that gives it something of a ‘mod’ look, as does the Italian national colours of the spare wheel cover and the rear-mounted Italian flag. Included with the sale are a ‘mods’ sticker that further adds to that theme, plus the original Vespa toolkit and a copy of the owner’s manual, spare hand grips and mud flap. There are also some factory accessories including two Vespa bags, two patches, a cap and two Italia badges. Our 1967 Vespa scooter is being offered for sale unregistered and with No Reserve.
Note: Shannons advise that all potential buyers research and inspect motorcycles before purchase to authenticate originality and condition as a pre-purchase inspection report is not carried out on these vehicles.
