In 1968 a new sedan chassis was introduced for the four and six cylinder models and many were powered by diesel engines. Besides the new body the biggest chassis improvement was the semi-trailing arm rear suspension. The W114 saloons were the faithful daily drivers for thousands of Mercedes-Benz owners and came with a roomy and hard wearing interior and could be purchased with a range of 6 cylinder petrol engines.
Many are still on the road today and still going strong after hundreds of thousands of miles.
