The year 1929 was cause for celebration at Buick, for it represented 25 years of Buick automotive production. As a result, all Buicks built during the 1929 model year were affectionately known as the 'Silver Anniversary' cars. Powered by the 309.6ci inline-six, the 1929 Buick range included the usual American offerings of the period, with Coupes, Convertibles, Roadsters, Sedans and Phaetons of differing shapes and sizes. A particularly interesting model in the range was the 29-51. It was offered with 'close coupled four-door sports sedan' coachwork and was unfortunately known as 'The Pregnant Buick' for its bloated look. The overall design was a big departure from previous Buicks and is celebrated today. These 1929 Buicks have a loyal following with many dedicated enthusiasts both in America and Australia offering plenty of support and advice, making them popular amongst fans of motoring between the two World Wars.
