The patrician Packard straight eights are amongst the most coveted of all American classics, with superb engineering, wonderful styling and a build quality of the highest standard - for years the Packard was in a class of its own. That Packard were able to survive the Great Depression, a time when huge numbers of automobile manufacturers disappeared, and managed to sell relatively large numbers abroad is further proof of the inherent quality found in these cars. For 1935 the 'Super 8' sat between the standard 'Eight' and top-spec 'Twelve' and could be ordered on one of three chassis, with wheelbases ranging from 132-139 inches. The 384.4ci straight-eight was retained and they continued Packards reputation for sublime luxury motoring. Today these cars are revered for their style, solid build quality and rarity. It is believed only 1392 were produced in Super Eight form for the 1935 model year.
