Chevrolets were popular big cars in Australia throughout the 1930s and 1940s, as they were strong, simple and well-suited to the rigours of our roads.
The cars were assembled here from Canadian-sourced components, with bodies built by GM's Australian subsidiary General Motors-Holden. Mechanically, the late 1930s Chevrolets were equipped with 235 CID straight six cylinder engines, a beam-axle front suspension and a three-speed manual gearbox.
