Section Three – Uninsured Third Party

What is covered What is not covered

Accident caused by an uninsured driver/rider (applicable to Third Party Only cover)

This additional benefit is relevant to you if you have purchased a Third Party Only policy (Section Two of this policy). If you have purchased Agreed Value Cover (Section One), then you do not need this additional benefit.

We will pay for loss or damage to your vehicle caused in an accident with another vehicle, including the reasonable costs of towing and storage, if:

  • we agree that the accident was an excess free claim;
  • you prove that the other driver/rider was completely responsible;
  • you tell us the name, address and licence details of the other driver/rider and the vehicle details including the owner and registration number;
  • you give us written evidence that the other driver/rider and the owner of the vehicle were not insured or that their insurance company refused to pay the claim; and
  • you have reported the accident to the police.

Accident caused by an uninsured driver/rider (applicable to Third Party Only cover)

We will not pay for loss or damage to your vehicle if the driver/rider or owner of the other vehicle was:

  • you;
  • your spouse or de facto partner;
  • any member of your immediate family; or
  • any person who usually lives with you.

The most we will pay is $5,000 including reasonable towing and storage costs.
