Shannons are doing a shout out for aspiring 007s at their upcoming Melbourne Late Summer Classic Auction on February 22.

Three top-end sporting cars given ‘legend’ status through their appearance in James Bond films over the years are crossing the block, affordably expected to sell in the $25,000-$130,000 range.

When the world is not enough, most motoring enthusiasts will be more than satisfied with an Aston Martin, as was James Bond in seven of the 26 films based on the exploits of Ian Fleming’s secret agent 007 made since 1962.

This Stunning low km Aston Martin Vantage Convertible at below half replacement price in the $115,000-$130,000 range.

Certainly the pristine metallic burgundy 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible offered for sale with just 16,000km from new on its odometer is licensed to thrill.

This pristine metallic burgundy 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible offered for sale with just 16,000km from new on its odometer is licensed to thrill.

It evokes memories of the Aston Martin DBS V12 that featured in the 2006 blockbuster Casino Royale.

Billed by Aston Martin as ‘the world’s most desirable sports car’, the stunning Vantage convertible being auctioned is powered by a 4.3 litre V8 engine matched to a six-speed clutchless manual transmission and has a full marque service history.

Now barely run in, the Vantage convertible represents an attractive option to the purchase of a new Aston Martin, with its guiding range of $115,000 - $130,000 representing less than half its original purchase price.

An even closer reminder of the same Bond era is the one owner, Australian-delivered silver 2002 model Aston Martin DB7 Vantage V12 Coupe that has covered just under 110,000km from new – less than 6,000 of them since its last service.

This one owner, Australian-delivered silver 2002 model Aston Martin DB7 Vantage V12 Coupe that has covered just under 110,000km from new is expected to sell very affordably in the $52,000-$60,000 range.

Shannons expect this well-maintained Aston with its 420HP 5.9-litre V12 engine and Touchtronic five-speed automatic transmission to sell even more affordably in the $52,000-$60,000 range.

Bond fans who only have eyes for Lotus supercars will instead be tempted by the well-presented and maintained 1980 model Lotus Esprit 'Turbo' Coupe, similar to the car that starred in the 1981 Bond film For your eyes only or its 1977 predecessor featuring the Lotus Esprit S1, The Spy Who Loved Me.

This well-presented and maintained 1980 model Lotus Esprit ‘Turbo’ Coupe is expected to thrill its next owner if it sells as expected in the $25,000-$32,000 range.

Powered by a replacement later model wet-sump 2.2 litre turbocharged engine and fitted with a five-speed manual transmission, the Esprit being auctioned has had nearly $12,000 invested in its maintenance in the past 18 months and is offered in sound mechanically condition.

It is expected to sell in the $25,000-$32,000 range, making it the potential Bond bargain of the auction.
