Marc Marquez is back on top of the podium! Marc took the race victory in style yesterday at the fast and challenging Sachsening circuit. It was a 1-2 celebration for Repsol Honda with Dani Pedrosa taking down Valentino Rossi and standing with a smile in second place whilst the veteran rider took third ahead of teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Yamaha did secure their ninth consecutive podium and were happy to see the Championship lead extend by three points over Lorenzo who will be looking to start even stronger in the second half of the season. Marc sealed a perfect weekend in Germany and will be entering the summer break feeling on top of the world. This is definitely an advantageous position to be in.

It was Repsol’s first 1-2 since Germany 2014 and is the sixth successive year Marc has won from pole position at this particular circuit. Dani has had seven podium finishes including four wins at the Sachsenring which proves how suitable it is for the Repsol Honda machinery versus the Yamaha set up. The race was exciting from start to finish amongst all riders. It was a very unfortunate day for Scott Redding and Andrea Dovizioso who both crashed out. Scott released the front brake and the front end unloaded which left disappointment hanging from his fingertips. Italian rider Dovi is beyond disappointed with what took place as he made a mistake, which cost him valuable points and plenty of race distance on the bike. He will need to reset for Indy and look to start better where he hopes the GP15 will be much stronger.

Movistar Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team

In the Moto2 class, Belgian rider Xavier Simeon took his first ever win at the Sachsenring. The happiness he displayed on the podium was inspiring. Simeon has been working all year to bag a win and he managed to beat the main championship leader Johann Zarco with a strategised yet clean move. This is the first victory for a Belgian rider since 1983 and he managed to beat Zarco by 83 milliseconds. The hard work demonstrated by Xavier just goes to show what can happen when you ride on the limit and know you are capable of taking first place.

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2

On the other side, we had the Moto3 race, which put Leopard Racing in a wonderful position both on the podium and in the championship. Both Danny Kent and Efren Vazquez took a 1-2 for the team at their home Grand Prix and Gresini rider Enea Bastianini took his fourth podium of the season after finishing ahead of Romano Fenati and Niccolo Antonelli. It was a photo finish that had Enea pushing more than ever to beat Fenati and the feeling of being ahead is very sweet for the Italian rider. Every rider in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 has the ability to race a bike at lighting pace. With that said, it takes great skill, courage and determination to put your body and bike on the line to win. Marquez, Kent and Simeon proved their weight in gold at the German track. The summer break has arrived and the next race will be at Indianapolis on 09 August 2015. The riders will be relaxing, training and having a good time whilst they can as some only have two weeks to really reap the rewards of their current success.
