• Very low VK Commodore SS ‘Group A’ sedan

• Original early Holden ute

• ‘No reserve’ 1955 FJ Standard Sedan with great patina

Three sought-after and collectable Holdens including a ‘no reserve’ 1955 FJ Sedan are amongst the 26 classic vehicles in Monday’s Shannons Winter Classic Auction in Sydney.

This very desirable and low kilometre 1985 Holden VK Commodore ‘Brock’ Group ‘A’ SS sedan is expected to sell in the $84,000-$92,000 range. Because of its condition and increasing collectability.

For serious ‘Brock’ enthusiasts there is a very collectable 1985 Holden VK Commodore Group ‘A’ SS sedan whose odometer is showing less than 32,000km.

With the move in Australia to the International Group A touring car regulations in 1985, Holden were forced to de-stroke their V8 engine from 5044cc to 4979cc and produce at least 500 examples in order to qualify for the new category.

Peter Brock’s Holden Dealer Team carried out the work and the example being auctioned is No 485 of the 500 built.

The Holden has formed part of a private collection and its odometer is showing just 31,197km, with Shannons told the engine was rebuilt just 1,000km ago by Peter Brock's renowned engine builder Neill Burns.

Regarded by many as the most desirable Brock Commodore, the car presents in very good condition throughout and according to Shannons would suit a serious collector. Accordingly, is expected to sell in the $84,000-$92,000 range on Monday night.

This very tidy 1951 Holden ‘FX’ Utility presented in substantially original condition is expected to attract interest from collectors at Monday’s Shannons Winter Classic Auction in Sydney, where it is expected to sell in the $26,000-$30,000 range.

For early Holden enthusiasts there is a very tidy 1951 Holden ‘FX’ Utility presented in substantially original condition.

One of 120,000 ’FX’ variants produced between November 1948 and September 1953, this increasingly rare early Holden ‘FX’ variant has been repainted in period green at some point while the interior appears to be substantially untouched, with a fabulous patina.

Offered with a tonneau cover, this Holden would be a fine addition to any collection at its expected selling range of $26,000-$30,000.

This ‘time-warp’ 1955 Holden FJ Standard Sedan will be offered with ‘no reserve’. It's expected to appeal to bargain hunters and collectors alike at its expected selling price of $12,000-$16,000.

Finally for bargain hunters and collectors, there is a ‘time-warp’ 1955 Holden FJ Standard Sedan that is being offered for sale with ‘no reserve’, with an expected guiding range of $12,000-$16,000.

A country car for much of its life, this great survivor has been in the same ownership for the past 35 years and has a fantastic time-warp feel lost on so many restored cars.

Repainted in its period cream colour at some stage, Shannons say the car presents well both inside and out and appears to have escaped modifications.

It comes with some spares (including some hard to find items like a grille and hubcaps) and was last registered in NSW in June 2014.
