The MotoGP riders have arrived in the Czech Republic for the Bwin Grand Prix ?eské Republiky. The quick turn around from Indy is a test of physical stamina and a positive mindset as the travel time can take its toll on the riders. It is very important that every rider adapts to the weather conditions of the Brno event in order to make sure they perform at the highest level. In particular, it is an exciting weekend for Karel Abraham, Karel Hanika and Jakub Kornfeil who are all racing at home. Karel is back after an operation and rehabilitation on his foot and Jakub is determined to perform for his Drive M7 SIC Racing Team who has the KTM machinery to push them further forward. The same can be said for Hanika is who on board the Red Bull KTM Ajo bike that is a strong competitor against the other manufacturers. Karel Abraham is still not 100% fit and stated that his foot still hurts especially when putting it into his race boot. This kind of injury is limiting and can definitely dampen the mood of an athlete, as the fitness level is not at its optimum. Formula Magazine gives credit to Karel for getting back on the horse this weekend. His bravery should be commended considering the Open Class Honda rider broke some bones in his foot but the worst part about the injury was tearing off his tendons. For those who are interested in the extremity of the injury, Karel had wires holding his foot together after it was so badly dislocated. One month later after staying in that position he is pushing himself back onto a MotoGP race bike! Talk about courage.

Marc Marquez is feeling motivated, positive and strong about his chances as the Brno circuit. Without a doubt winning in Indy has enabled Marc to forget about the start of the season and focus on arriving across the finish line ahead of everyone else. Marquez has left the baggage of his mistakes at the door and is already thinking about winning again. Valentino Rossi on the other hand is trying to discover why his performance in qualifying is not up to scratch. Vale knows that fighting with Marc and Jorge is a challenge and one that must be treated carefully because any mistake could cost him the lead in the Championship. Whilst Rossi thinks about his qualifying strategies, Lorenzo is already thinking about the bigger picture of winning in the Czech Republic. The circuit itself is theoretically and historically positive for his riding style, the Yamaha machinery and his overall fitness. The Spartan as he calls himself is the fittest and strongest he has ever been. This is certainly an advantage to riding on the limit lap after lap!

Congratulations are in order for Pol Espargaro who will be celebrating his 150th race start with his M1 Yamaha. The excitement is clear in his body language and Pol is aiming to reflect his abilities on paper. The top six is his goal and the Brno circuit is sure to put on an excellent show for the fans of the sport. In Moto2 and Moto3, Johann Zarco and Danny Kent will have their work cut out for them as the rest of the grid set their sights on beating them. The circuit has 6 left and 8 right hand corners, the longest straight being 636m and a distance of 5.4km with a gorgeous landscape and fast corners to test the riders by pushing them to the limit. Our fingers are crossed for Australian rider Jack Miller who is looking to redeem himself after crashing out in Indy after four laps. Miller is still the top Open Honda rider in the Championship and will make sure to keep this result intact. Time to go racing!
