Marc Marquez has taken a big dent to both his ego and Championship dreams. With two laps to go at the 2015 Grand Prix in Argentina, Marc Marquez was subject to an intense battle with Valentino Rossi that ended with Marquez clipping the back of Rossi’s Bridgestone tyre and sliding across the track with a DNF next to his name. Marc was furious and could not believe that he let those Championship points disappear into thin air within a matter of one lap. The fans around the track were cheering loud for the number 46 bike as he crossed in first place.

Without a doubt, the ride of the day goes to Valentino Rossi who started in 8th position on the grid. Rossi made his way through the field battling Lorenzo, Iannone, Crutchlow and Dovizioso as he hunted down the Spanish Champion on-board his Repsol Honda machine. Rossi was gaining time on every lap; his focus was clear and his ability to ride like Marquez on display. The Italian stallion took his second victory for the season and his team were absolutely ecstatic.

It was another second place for Andrea Dovizioso who fought with his teammate and Cal Crutchlow. The CWM-LCR Honda rider managed to bring home the first podium finish for his team boss Lucio Cecchinello who was incredibly happy as Jack Miller was the open class winner after beating Hector Barbera on the last lap. It was a wonderful day for Lucio’s Honda team. Step by step the Australian rider is getting closer to the front. Congratulations Jack!

Jorge Lorenzo on the other hand will probably want to forget the race after finishing 5th. The Spanish rider did not expect to finish in fifth position and was not able to ride like Rossi did on the extra hard option tyre. He did not feel good and felt as though his riding style was compromised. Lorenzo will be hoping for a better race at Jerez. On the other hand, it was a top ten finish for the Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP team although Aleix Espargaro was expected to finish in the top five after a strong qualifying performance. It appears that the Suzuki rider was afflicted by some issues with the rear of his bike and will be looking to provide all the necessary feedback in order to be more competitive.

Movistar Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team

In the Moto2 class, Tito Rabat did not make the podium after a battle with race winner Johann Zarco. Rabat ran off track and ended up dropping from first to last. He did manage to come back and finish 12th but luck is definitely not on their side. It was French rider Zarco on board his Ajo Motorsport bike that went on to win his first ever Moto2 race. Zarco is now the Championship leader. In the Moto3 class, Danny Kent took off and won another race to extend his leader in the Championship. Leopard Racing managed to take 1 and 2 on the podium with and have increased the gap to KTM as a manufacturer. Remy Gardner finished in 19th position ahead of some impressive talent. Way to go!
