History

Since 1981 Shannons has been Australia's leading auction house for veteran, vintage, classic, sports and modified vehicles, as well as classic motorcycles and automotive memorabilia.

Shannons Auctions have re-shaped the classic vehicle market, setting the reference point for Australian values and becoming the first choice for both private individuals and Government departments, including numerical and special number plate sales.

Why Shannons

In addition to these regular auction events, Shannons conduct special one-off number plate auctions for the RTA and Vic Roads and the sale of private collections across Australia.

Our Auctions Work

Importantly, Shannons not only know all about the vehicles we sell and what they are worth, we know where the buyers are.

Shannons is Australia's foremost auctioneer of veteran, vintage, classic, sporting and modified vehicles, as well as classic motorcycles, motoring memorabilia and numerical number plates. Shannons takes the hassle and frustration out of the selling process, and offers enthusiasts the convenience of purpose built showrooms in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Nationally, we insure more vintage, veteran, classic vehicles and road bikes than anyone else. Shannons know the market because we talk to thousands of enthusiasts every day about their vehicles and their motoring passion.

Shannons Auctions are promoted widely and always well attended by genuine buyers, so it's not surprising more than 80 percent of lots sell on the day of the auction.

Comprehensive Advertising & Promotion

Shannons advertise auction vehicles prominently in major daily newspapers, motoring magazines and on the Shannons website, that attracts over 70,000 unique visitors a month.

This dynamic website includes a selection of detailed pictures of each vehicle, vehicle history and description, as well as independent pre-purchase reports. This allows buyers to fully research lots prior to purchase.

Shannons also distribute 20,000 colour brochures for each auction to clients across Australia and around the world.

Regular media releases are also distributed for each auction, resulting in extensive coverage in newspapers, magazines and on websites around the world.

In addition, our auctions are promoted during the 600 plus motoring events around Australia that Shannons support and sponsor each year.

Shannons Showrooms

Shannons is open to the public for viewing and vehicle valuations 6 days a week Monday through Saturday and holds special preview weekends (Saturday & Sunday) prior to each scheduled Auction.

Our showrooms have become the destination point for motoring enthusiasts, with over 500 people visiting our Melbourne and Sydney showrooms each week.
